The free to play MMO game "Neverwinter" is poised to in getting a major expansion, which just got released for the PlayStation 4. Entitled, “The Cloaked Ascendancy,” players will be thrust into new quests with expanded campaign content.

As posted on the official PlayStation Blog, “The Cloaked Ascendancy” is the latest major expansion for the free to play MMO and the new content covers a new campaign that lets the player explore the Spellplague Caverns. New items and rewards await those who would best the new areas.

PlayStation Plus subscribers get a little advantage by getting a free Mulhorand Weapon. This could be claimed by signing in on the PlayStation Store. Mulhorand Weapons could be very useful for players who are yet to reach the level cap of 70. The weapon, however, can only be grabbed until May 12.

Those that will manage to beat “The Cloaked Ascendancy” will get the Ascend Artifact Weapons and it is divided into four sets tailored for different fighting styles. There are different sets for Mirage, Fey, Lifeforged, and Aboleth.

For those that will venture forth, the Spellplague Caverns Dungeon will get the Fragmented Key of Stars Artifact. This powerful item can be used to summon a Far Realm Horror, which can inflict heavy damage to nearby enemies and knock them all back as well.

In “Neverwinter: The Cloaked Ascendancy,” there is also the new companion gear, which favors those who frequent the Illusionist's Gambit Skirmish. The companion gear provides stat boost for rings, neck items, waist items, sword knots, icons, pact blades, and grimoires. Rough Astral Diamond can also be farmed for any unnecessary gear acquired.

Finally, there's the Arcane Whirlwind mount. The mount can be obtained through the Many-Starred Lockbox. Players who will summon it will be wrapped in an elemental air spirit and will allow them to easily travel from one place to another quickly.
